Ryan Sarhan is the founder and lead game designer behind Bourbon Kings. Ryan is a Biosystems Engineering Master's student at the University of Kentucky – where his research focuses on a water reuse strategy with the potential to save ~7 millions of gallons annually for a single bourbon whiskey distillery. Merging his academic background with his enjoyment for board games, Ryan identified a unique opportunity. Why isn't there engaging, interactive, and accessible way for people to explore the rich science and culture behind America's native spirit?
Bourbon Kings began as a university class project but quickly evolved into a passion project driven by Ryan's desire to share the bourbon culture in a format that emphasizes fun, social connection, and authentic learning. Based in the heart of bourbon country, Lexington, KY, Ryan leverages his scientific understanding and local industry connections to ensure Bourbon Kings offers an experience that is faithful to the science and craft of bourbon production. His goal is to bridge the gap between enthusiasts and newcomers, making the appreciation of bourbon craft a shared, memorable tabletop adventure.
